Danny Higginbotham: Antonio Conte’s formation change is bringing out the best in N’Golo Kante

Antonio Conte’s decision to change Chelsea‘s formation is greatly benefiting N’Golo Kante, according to ex-Stoke defender Danny Higginbotham.
After a poor run of results which saw the Italian’s side lose to both Liverpool and Arsenal, the former Juventus coach decided to change to a formation that included three at the back.
Since that decision, Kante has been showing the type of form he showed last season during Leicester City’s title triumph that made him so desirable to Europe’s biggest clubs this past summer.

And Higginbotham has said there is no coincidence between the two events.
"Conte's decision to revert to three at the back in recent weeks has been key to N'Golo Kante's increasing influence at Chelsea," said Higginbotham, as reported by Sky Sports News.
"In recent games, however, Kante has been getting higher up the pitch as the three of Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta at the back has given him the confidence and insurance to do so."
"The change in the system is a huge benefit to both Kante and Chelsea as it means three defenders are defending instead of shoehorning Kante into one of those positions."
