Celtic beat Well, Dons score four

Celtic remain four points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership after beating Motherwell 2-0 at Parkhead on Saturday.
Scott Sinclair opened the scoring after 18 minutes and Moussa Dembele sealed the win for Brendan Rodgers' side with a late penalty.
Aberdeen continued their good run with a 4-0 victory over Ross County at Pittodrie with goals from Jonny Hayes, Shay Logan, Niall McGinn and Jayden Stockley. The visitors were hampered by the dismissal of Tim Chow midway through the first half.
Hearts are third following a 2-0 win against Dundee at Tynecastle with goals from Callum Paterson and Bjorn Johnsen in the last quarter of the game. The result means the Dark Blues now find themselves at the foot of the table.
On-loan defender Scott Boyd scored the only goal at McDiarmid Park as Kilmarnock climbed to ninth in the table with a 1-0 win against St Johnstone.
It finished 2-2 between Partick Thistle and Hamilton Accies at Firhill. Ryan Edwards and Liam Lindsay scored for the Jags, with Massimo Donati and Eamonn Brophy netting for Accies.

Weekend in numbers

dons
@splstats looks at some of the numbers behind the weekend games, with the focus on Aberdeen, Rangers, Morton, Peterhead and Elgin City.
Aberdeen remain in second place in the Ladbrokes Premiership table after thumping Ross County 4-0 at Pittodrie on Saturday. It was the biggest home win for the Dons since February 2015, when they beat the same side by the same scoreline. Derek McInnes’ men made a slow start to the season but have found their feet in front of goal in recent weeks, recording two 4-0 wins in a row. 'Wannabe' by the Spice Girls was UK No 1 the last time Aberdeen managed back-to-back four-goal wins – that was back in August and September of 1996. They defeated Hearts 4-0 in the Premier Division before following it up with a 7-3 extra-time victory over Morton in the League Cup. The Dons, of course, face Morton again in the Betfred Cup on Saturday. Aberdeen remain unbeaten at Pittodrie this season – they have picked up six wins and three draws in nine home matches.
100 Rangers are fourth in the Ladbrokes Premiership table after defeating Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1-0 on Friday night. The Gers have a good record in Inverness – this was their 10th visit to the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium and they have suffered just a single defeat, back in December 2006. Veteran striker Kenny Miller was their hero on Friday, notching his 100th goal in a Light Blue jersey. The 36 year-old is in his third spell at Ibrox – he arrived from Hibs in 2000 and scored 11 times in the 2000/01 campaign before departing for Wolverhampton Wanderers. He returned for a second spell in 2008 and netted 56 goals before leaving for Bursaspor in Turkey in 2011. Miller returned to Govan in 2014, and has so far added a further 33 to his total to complete his century.
5 Morton produced the shock of the weekend by thumping Ladbrokes Championship leaders Queen of the South 5-0 at Palmerston on Saturday. Jim Duffy’s side had previously gone 10 away matches without a victory in the Championship, with their last success coming at Easter Road back in February, while Queens had seven wins and a draw from their eight home matches this season. The Ton notched up their biggest away league win in well over a decade – the last time they recorded a five-goal victory on the road was a 6-1 thrashing of Alloa in September 2004. Morton will take some good form into the Betfred Cup semi-final – they have recorded four wins in their last five matches, with their only defeat coming against Dundee United at Tannadice.
200 Peterhead climbed off the foot of the Ladbrokes League 1 table after defeating Airdrieonians 3-1 at the Excelsior Stadium. It was the Blue Toon’s first away win since early March, ending a run of two draws and 10 defeats on the road. Peterhead’s second goal came courtesy of Rory McAllister’s 200th career goal. The striker’s first goal came back in January 2006, when he scored for Inverness Caledonian Thistle against Ayr United in the Scottish Cup. He would go on to score four more times for Inverness. McAllister had a brief loan spell at Peterhead in January 2008, scoring once in four matches. After leaving Inverness, he had a very productive stint at Brechin City, netting 65 goals between 2008 and 2011. He rejoined Peterhead in the summer of 2011 and has scored 129 times in just over five seasons, including a career-best tally of 33 in 2013/14. At 29, McAllister may still have many years ahead of him, and if he continues to score at his current rate then he could reach 300 before his 34th birthday.
5 Elgin City thumped Montrose 5-0 at Links Park to move to within three points of Ladbrokes League 2 leaders Forfar Athletic. City have now recorded four consecutive away victories, equalling their best run since joining the SFL back in 2000. Jim Weir’s side have won five of their six away matches in League 2 this year, with their only defeat coming at the hands of leaders Forfar Athletic back in August. This is in stark contrast to their away form in recent seasons – City only won five times away from home last season, a tally which they have already equalled. In fact, the last time they won more than five away games in a league season was 2009/10, when they earned six away victories.
