TUNISIA TOO STRONG FOR GUINEA IN MONASTIR
Tunisia defeated Guinea 2-0 in Monastir on Sunday evening to get their Group A campaign in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers off to a winning start.
The Carthage Eagles join DR Congo at the top of the standings, with the Leopards having crushed Libya 4-0 on Saturday in the pool's opening fixture.
After a goalless first half, Tunisia broke the deadlock 13 minutes after the restart though defender Aymen Abdennour.
They had to wait until the 80th minute to seal all three points, with substitute attacker Ahmed Akaichi netting the Carthage Eagles' second goal to put the result beyond doubt.
Tunisia will next be in 2018 qualifiers action when they visit Libya next month, while Guinea will host DR Congo.
