MONTRÉAL IMPACT vs D.C. UNITED
STADE SAPUTO, Montréal, Qué.
August 8, 2015 (WEEK 23, MLS Game #230)
8 p.m. ET (TSN2 / RDS; CSN-MA, MLS LIVE)
The Montréal Impact and D.C. United meet for the second time this season in a critical match for both clubs, when the Eastern Conference foes face off at Stade Saputo on Saturday evening. The Impact come into the match holding down sixth place and the final playoff position in the division, following their 1-1 home draw at midweek with the New York Red Bulls. United lead the East and the chase for the Supporters’ Shield, holding the league’s best overall record after a wild 6-4 win against Real Salt Lake last weekend at RFK Stadium.
  • D.C. United equaled their club record (set twice previously) with their 6-4 win against Real Salt Lake on Saturday evening. Chris Rolfe netted a pair of goals – his second two-goal game in seven matches, and the eighth multiple-goal game of his MLS career – to start United on their way.
  • United also overcame a two-goal deficit in the RSL win, the first team in MLS history to overcome 2-goal deficit to win back-to-back games. They were behind Philadelphia Union 0-2 in their 3-2 victory on July 26. United are 7-6-1 when allowing the opening goal this season.
  • The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Jairo Arrieta scored the game’s lone goal to lead United to victory in the opening weekend of the league campaign, March 7 at RFK Stadium.
  • When United won 4-2 last June 11 at Stade Saputo, it was the only victory by a road team in the series history. United have won three of the five meetings lifetime at RFK Stadium, with two draws.
