MARSEILLE TO STAY QUIET IN JANUARY WINDOW - LABRUNE
Olympique de Marseille president Vincent Labrune has insisted the Ligue 1 leaders will not be making any moves in the transfer market during the January window.
The window opens for French clubs on Saturday, January 3 and will shut on Monday, February 2. However, Labrune said that OM have no plans to bring any new faces in or allow any players to leave this month, telling local newspaper La Provence: "There will be no departures or arrivals. We will stay like that until further notice."
Labrune's comments come despite ongoing speculation that Brazilian defender Matheus Dória - who has yet to make a top-team appearance for the club since signing just before the summer transfer window closed - and back-up goalkeeper Brice Samba will leave Marseille this month, probably on loan.
Meanwhile, a quartet of first-team regulars in leading scorer André-Pierre Gignac, Ghana star André Ayew and defensive duo Rod Fanni and Jérémy Morel, are all now free to negotiate pre-contract agreements with other clubs as their existing deals at the Stade Vélodrome expire at the end of this season.
