The NASL's board of governors has elected Jacksonville Armada FC owner Mark Frisch as its new chairman, replacing Aaron Davidson, who was indicted in May in the FIFA scandals that resulted in indictments against 14 individuals.
"Mark has established himself as a leader among our owners, and they recognized that by electing him as chairman," said NASL commissioner Bill Peterson. "Mark has a clear vision for the future of this league, and his guidance and input will be an important component for our continued growth."
Frisch is the founder and CEO of Sunshine Soccer Group and spearheaded the efforts to bring pro soccer back to Jacksonville in 2013. In its first NASL season, Armada FC is third in the NASL with an average attendance of 8,247 fans a game.

Jacksonville set the NASL attendance record with 16,164 fans for its first game at EverBank Field, home of the NFL Jaguars. It plays regularly at Community First Park, a local baseball stadium.
Frisch has assumed the role of board chairman effective immediately. The board of governors is meeting this week to review expansion plans. It will add teams in Miami and Puerto Rico in 2016. They will give the league 13 teams.
The league must deal with the Carolina Railhawks, owned by Traffic, the sports agency whose U.S. operations Davidson headed up, and the Atlanta Silverbacks, who are operated by the league.
