The Chipolopolo were the third best team at the debut edition in 2009 that featured eight teams.

George Lwandamina’s side will start their campaign with a game against Zimbabwe on January 19 at Umuganda Stadium, Gisenyi .

The Cranes have never gone beyond the group stage of the CHAN tournament but hope to break the jinx this time. Uganda defeated Sudan 4-0 on aggregate to book their third appearance in the championship.

Forward Miya Faruku who scored two goals in the 4-0 win against Sudan will be the apex of Milutin Sredojević’s team.

Uganda will play against Mali in their group D opening fixture at the Umuganda Stadium, Gisenyi on January 19.
