Chelsea winger's stellar season supported by lead in rankings in various categories
Eden Hazard's winner against Manchester United showed why he is among the nominees for the PFA Player of the Season award which will be announced after the Belgian plays against Arsenal on Sunday.
The winger, who has five goals in his last seven BPL appearances, ranks in the top 10 for BPL players for goals, assists, chances created, dribbles, opposition box touches and sprints this term, justifying the accolades that look set to head his way at the end of the season.

Matchweek 34 of the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League football kicks off at St Mary's Stadium with the return of Mauricio Pochettino to Southampton, the club he left for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
While form of late has hit Spurs' hopes of UEFA Champions League football next season, there is optimism among the fans at White Hart Lane for the Argentinian's prospects, with the emergence of Harry Kane and the form of Christian Eriksen.
One main difference this season in the Spurs side of Pochettino has been the work ethic instilled by their new manager. Spurs were bottom in the rankings of distance covered by clubs last season but have climbed 19 places this campaign, covering 7km per match more on average than in 2013/14. Southampton, who led the league in distance covered last season under Pochettino, run 4km less on average under Ronald Koeman but are still third in the table of the 20 clubs.
Distances covered this season and last
2014/15 | Km/match | Rank | 2013/14 | Km/match |
Burnley | 116.4 | 1 | Southampton | 117.3 |
Spurs | 114.0 | 2 | Cardiff City | 113.7 |

Analysis of tracking data by Opta has shown that the arrival of a new manager has largely an upward effect in terms of how much teams cover during a match this season.
Six new men have taken over management during the 2014/15 season and when a comparison is made between all 26 permanent top-flight managers this season (with Alan Pardew's two clubs as separate) the data shows that players, by and large, run further for their new bosses.
At Aston Villa, the players are running almost 3km more under Tim Sherwood than they did when Paul Lambert was in charge. Lambert's side was ranked 25th in average distance covered under each manager. Similarly, at The Hawthorns, Tony Pulis has his team running more than 4km more on average than when playing for Alan Irvine, a climb in the rankings from 24th to 7th.
Dick Advocaat (ranked 19th), at Sunderland, is the only new manager to see less distance covered by his side than his predecessor, although at three matches into his spell at the Stadium of Light, it is still too soon to tell.
Manager | Team | Matches | Km/ match | Rank of 26 |
