Philadelphia Union and the New England Revolution meet for the second time this season when the Eastern Conference foes face off in a key clash at PPL Park on Saturday evening. Union put an end to a five-game winless run last time out, defeating the Montréal Impact 1-0 on the road last weekend to pull within one point on the final playoff position in the East. The Revolution return to action riding a four-game undefeated run, their last match a 2-0 win against the Houston Dynamo, leaving them six points clear of sixth place in the division.

  • The Union made it three games in a row without a loss, following a pair of draws with a 1-0 win at the Montreal Impact on Saturday. Sebastien Le Toux scored for a second consecutive game, his fourth goal in the last five matches (plus a US Open Cup goal), for the late game-winner.
  • The Revolution return to action after a week away from league matches, extending their undefeated run to four games last time out with a 2-0 win against the Houston Dynamo at Gillette Stadium.
  • The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Teal Bunbury set up the tying goal and scored the game-winner, both in the second half, hauling the Revolution back for a 2-1 win April 19 at PPL Park.
  • The road team has now won each of the last three league meetings between the clubs. The Revolution won 5-3 last May 17 at PPL Park; the Union returned the favor with a 3-1 win at Gillette Stadium on June 28.
