The PSG skipper has had his say on Angel Di Maria's imminent move - and it has led to some Man United fans getting VERY angry on Twitter
PSG's Thiago Silva - and some wonderfully furious fans
For Paris Saint-Germain, it seems simply nicking Angel Di Maria off Man United at a discount price isn't quite enough.
Judging by the comments from club captain Thiago Silva , they want to rub salt into that '£59m-to-£44m-in-less-than-a-year' wound while they're at it.
Asked about Di Maria's impending arrival, Brazilian defender Silva had this to say:
"People now need to respect PSG as one of the big clubs in Europe. Real Madrid and Barcelona are probably on another level, but after that if you join PSG you are you probably taking a step up."
In other words? By leaving United and joining PSG, Di Maria is taking a step up and joining a bigger club.
Quite a statement. In news that will shock no-one, Man United suporters across the globe were outraged and disgusted - and took their fury to Twitter.

The 6 things that will definitely happen if Arsène Wenger finally beats Jose Mourinho
Arsène has failed to overcome Jose thirteen games in a row - but might the impossible happen in today's Community Shield clash?
Some things in life are simply unchangeable. The sun rises, then the sun sets. The tide comes in, then the tide goes out. Arsène Wenger never, ever beats Jose Mourinho. These are life's little constants - reassuring certainties for us all.
Imagine, however, that one of these certainties suddenly changed. It would be terrifying - and perhaps exhilarating.
Considering that the sun and the tide seem pretty much the same as always right now, we'd reckon that the change most likely to happen is that Wenger will finally beat Mourinho in today's Community Shield curtain-raiser - at only the fourteenth attempt.
Probability suggests it's unlikely - we know. Still, what would happen if probability went out of the window and Arsène claimed victory? Well, here's what.
1. Arsenal fans will claim that they can win the league
Some Arsenal players are already pretty confident, but the fans need more evidence - a win today could be just that.
A belated triumph for their manager will certainly have much of the fanbase hoping that they'll see a first Premier League title at the Emirates come the end of the season. Maybe they will. Or maybe they'll collapse in February and come fourth.
2. Arsenal fans will troll Chelsea over Petr Cech
The signing of Petr Cech might well be the turning point in the rivalry between Arsène and Jose - the ex-Chelsea stopper could hold the key.
How will Chelsea fans react to a 1-0 Arsenal win with Cech saving three penalties? That, combined with constant Cech-based taunting from the stands and a big, bromantic hug between Arsène and his new keeper at the final whistle?
Not well, we imagine.
3. Chelsea supporters will claim that "it's just a friendly"
It's just a friendly, Arsenal fans! Arsène Wenger didn't really beat Jose! It doesn't count!
Except, looking at the recent record, it actually does.
4. Jose will say that he didn't want to win the Community Shield anyway
Jose will arrive at his post-match press conference and say something like: "I don't want to win the Community Shield.
"It would be a big disappointment for me. I don't want my players to feel the Community Shield is our competition".
5. A distant universe will be destabilised
Will the universe ever be the same if Arsène beats Jose? Definitely not - and we've got a nagging feeling that the whole thing might cause cosmic chaos.
Life's apparent certainties don't change without serious consequences for the galaxy. Maybe it's best if you don't disturb the natural way of things, Arsène.
6. Arsène and Jose will put rivalry aside and go for a post-match drink
Maybe, just maybe, a victory for Arsène will alleviate the tension between the two.
However, it seems far less likely than the possibility of a distant universe collapsing.
So there we are. If Arsenal win the fans will go ballistic, Jose and Arsène will make up and a galaxy far, far away will implode.
