Angola/Madagascar: National Football Team Face Madagascar At 12h30 Sunday

Luanda — The Angolan national senior men's football team are playing this Sunday Madagascar in Antananarivo at 12h30, for the second round of group B of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON2017), to take place in Gabon.
For the same round, Central African Republic are receiving DR Congo.
Angola and DR Congo co-lead the group B, both with 3 points.


Angola: Football - 1º De Agosto Prepare Carefully Match Against Petro

Luanda — 1º de Agosto held this morning in Luanda a training session to improve the technical and tactical system for the Saturday match against Petro de Luanda, in the 25th round of the national first division football championship (Girabola2015).
For 90 minutes, the team worked to correct the position of players on the pitch, ending with a small-sided game, to assess the capacity of the group to hold the ball.
Speaking to Angop at the end of the training session, the technical assistant of the club, Filipe Nzanza, said the team is very motivated to face with maturity its opponent.
The match is set for Saturday at 4 p.m at Luanda's 11 de Novembro Stadium at a time that the teams are separated by 11 points, with 1 de Agosto placed third with 42 and Petro seventh with 31 points.
The competition is led by Recreativo do Libolo of Cuanza Sul with 51 points, while Domant do Bengo are at the bottom of the table with 17 points.


Angola: Football - Angola Rise One Place in FIFA Rankings


Luanda — Angola has jumped one place in the ranking of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), occupying now the 88th position with 381 points, in a list led by Argentine with 1,442 points.
This follows FIFA's updates carried out today. The Angolans, who are expected to play Madagascar Sunday on the second roud of Group B qualifying match for CAN2017 in Gabon, are the best second among Portuguese Speaking African Countries (PALOP), behind Cape Verde, which fell six places.
Mozambique with (95), Guinea-Bissau (142) and Sao Tome and Principe (190).
As for the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), Brazil ranks fifth with 1,209 points, while Portugal comes sixth with 1,186 points.
Algeria remains the highest ranked African country at 19th place, followed by Cote d'Ivoire (21) and Ghana (27th). These three countries maintained their positions on the last update.
