Pep Guardiola will make an emotional return to former club Barcelona with Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Real Madrid will take on Juventus in the other semi-final.
Guardiola won two Champions League titles in four years as Barca coach between 2008 and 2012, beating Manchester United in the finals in Rome and Wembley in 2009 and 2011.
At Bayern he has adapted Barcelona’s Cruyff-inspired philosophy for German football, winning the double last season but being eliminated in the Champions League semi-finals to Real Madrid in humiliating fashion following a 4-0 home loss in the second leg.
Barcelona, who under coach Luis Enrique have won a record 42 of their 50 matches this season, have won only two of their previous eight matches against Bayern but top La Liga.
The match also pits two brothers against each other in the shape of Bayern's Thiago and Barcelona's Rafinha.
Real Madrid are defending their title and face a tough prospect against Juventus, who currently lead Serie A by 15 points. However, Madrid will be favourites and Carlo Ancelotti will surely feel he has landed a favourable draw against his former side.
Juventus have won seven of their previous meetings against Madrid in the competition, drawing one and losing eight.
THE REACTION
Barcelona coach Luis Enrique: "It's special as it's the first time Pep faces Barca, and I face him. And he versus these players too. I don't care about playing first leg at home or away. We will go out to win in both games. Pep is my friend. He's the best coach, for the trophies he has won and for his way of playing."
Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueno: "You never know, last year in theory we had the toughest team and by the second half in Munich it was very relaxed. Juve are a great rival, defend very well and are tactically prepared for maximum demands. The return at home in theory is little advantage. [Alvaro] Morata is having a sensational season. We're delighted for him, he deserves it, he's working hard and showing his great potential."THE DATES
Barcelona v Bayern Munich will be played on Tuesday May 5, with the reverse fixture on Wednesday May 13. Juventus host Real Madrid on May 6 and go to Spain on May 12.
The final will take place at Berlin’s Olympiastadion on Saturday 6 June.
OUR VIEW
It's a fairytale draw for fans of the Barcelona school as its most famous graduate returns to Catalunya with Bayern Munich. These are the two kings of possession football in Europe and it will be fascinating to see what happens when two teams built on similar philosophical precepts come together in such fashion. It also leaves open the possibility that we will see a Clasico final in Berlin, which would be the biggest club game ever seen in football. So a decent draw, then.
The Bayern-Barca game is too close to call, but although Real Madrid will feel they have landed the best draw in Juventus, the other semi-final is far from a foregone conclusion. At this stage, the quality is so extreme that no team has an easy proposition. Just sit back and enjoy the football.
