Alex Sandro would be great at Juventus, says Dunga

The Brazil boss has compared the left-back to Roberto Carlos and has little doubt he would be an instant hit in Turin.
The 24-year-old is heavily linked with a move away from Porto following his refusal to sign a new contract, with his existing deal due to expire in June 2016. Porto president Pinto da Costa had already revealed that he rejected an offer from Atlético Madrid. Dunga said: "Alex Sandro would be a great signing for Juventus. He is a classic Brazilian full-back. He has a fine technique and a drive forward. He reminds me of Roberto Carlos a bit. I know him pretty well and have already called him up for Brazil in the past. I keep a close eye on all candidates for the national team, including Alex Sandro."

Corinthians reject Galatasary’s Pato bid

Corinthians have turned down a €5 million bid for Alexandre Pato from Galatasaray, but negotiations between the two clubs are continuing, with a deal likely to be reached in the coming days.
The Timāo paid over €10m to bring Pato back to Brazil and are reportedly looking for a similar sum before they would be willing to sell him.
Pato is currently on loan at rivals Sāo Paulo.

Fernandinho compares Man City teammate Aguero to Romario

Fernandinho has told the Telegraph that teammate Sergio Aguero is the closest thing he has seen to Brazil legend Romario, an idol of the Manchester City midfielder growing up.
“He is like Romario when he plays. I watched Romario when I was young and he was one of my idols,” Fernandinho said.
“Sergio has a great chance to be the best striker in the world, to be like them as one of the best ever, if he keeps working hard as he is now. When Romario or Ronaldo missed a chance they continued and go for the next one. They continued working and trying and this is the difference of the great players. That’s what Sergio is like.
“It’s important to keep Sergio fit. When he is fit, he can cause a lot of problems for the opponents and help us with goals and assists.
“Last year he was the best striker in the Premier League and top scorer, but he didn’t win the title of player of the year. This year I hope he can score a lot of goals again and he can win that title.”
After two consecutive wins, and hugely impressive performances, the midfielder said that City already had their eye on the title.
“We have come to win the title this season. Pre-season the manager prepared the team very well and we have started very well. We are much stronger as a team. The important thing is to win the title and if we can do it with style and by entertaining, it’s perfect. But if you cannot we have to be more consistent, especially in defending. This season we have started very different from last year and we are in a good position to have a great season.”

Aldridge advises Liverpool to start Lucas versus Arsenal

Lucas in action for the Reds

Liverpool legend John Aldridge has advised Brendan Rodgers to start unsettled midfielder Lucas Leiva when the Reds travel to Arsenal on Monday.
The former Republic of Ireland striker used his column in the Liverpool Echo to warn of the threat Arsenal pose on the counterattack, a threat he thinks Lucas would do a good job of countering, despite being seemingly close to leaving the club.
He wrote: ‘I'd play Lucas and I think we could have done with him at times against Bournemouth when we looked a little bit open and things got a bit tetchy.
‘He's our only player for that situation. (Jordan) Henderson doesn't do it, (James) Milner doesn't do it, (Joe) Allen does it a little bit.
‘Milner could then be moved out to the right for the game to make us more solid.

‘I know he's been promised that he'll play centrally, but sometimes the manager has to say 'just take one for the team' and there's nothing to stop him going back to the centre the following week.’
