Tehran: AFC Champions League 2015 quarter-finalists Naft Tehran had to settle for their second successive draw in the fledgling Iran league after coming from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Saba Qom on Thursday.
Looking to bounce back from their goalless draw with fellow 2015 ACL participants Tractorsazi Tabriz in their opening match of the 2015 Persian Gulf Pro League, Naft got off to the worse possible start to their Round 2 encounter with Jalaleldin Alimohammadi putting Saba one up with just two minutes at the Takhti Stadium played.
Two-time AFC Champions League participants Saba held the lead until the 81st minute, when midfielder Abbas Bozar earned Naft a share of the spoils.
Naft will be hoping to ht the winning trail in their next domestic matches which sees Ali Mansourian’s side take on Siah Jamegan in Mashad next Thursday before entertaining Malavan six days later, prior to the first leg of their continental quarter-final with Al Ahli of the UAE on August 26.
