Raheem Sterling will earn up to £180,000-a-week basic salary at Manchester City and will have medical on Wednesday ahead of £49m switch from Liverpool

Raheem Sterling will pocket at least £160,000-a-week - plus appearance and goal bonuses - when he signs for Manchester City in a £49million deal.
The 20-year-old, who rejected a new £100,000-a-week deal at Liverpool last season, may even command a basic weekly salary of £180,000-a-week, Sportsmail understands.
And the England international is expected in Manchester on Wednesday for his medical and to compete the final details on his new deal with City

Sterling currently earns £35,000-a-week at Anfield but he is set for a huge pay hike when he becomes City's record signing later this week.
The England international will undergo a medical and agree personal terms before penning a long-term deal at the Etihad and joining up with Manuel Pellegrini's squad for pre-season.
Sterling is believed to have earned just £400-a-week during his days as a QPR youth player, while his first professional contract with Liverpool was worth £2,000-a-week.
He signed his current £35,000-a-week deal at Anfield in December 2012, agreeing a five-year stay after breaking into the first-team under Brendan Rodgers.
Sterling will become one of City's highest paid players as the club work on improving the amount of homegrown talent in Pellegrini's squad ahead of the new season.
Speaking about Sterling's move during a press conference in Bangkok on Monday, Reds boss Rodgers said: 'The situation is currently very simple,'

THE RISE OF STERLING'S WAGES

£400 per week - What Sterling was believed to earn during his spell at QPR's youth team
£2,000 per week - What Sterling earned when he signed his first professional contract at Liverpoool
£35,000 per week - What Sterling earns now on his current Liverpool contract which has two years to run
£100,000 per week - What Liverpool reportedly offered Sterling to stay at the club, but the midfielder turned down

'The club has agreed with another club a deal for Raheem to be transferred and subject to a medical that will go through.
'Contrary to probably the last week or so in terms of what was written, Raheem and I have stayed very strong in our relationship and have been right up until we left. So there is no issue there. I spoke to Raheem at length before I left (for Thailand) yesterday.
'There is no issue, there is no problem and I said the two clubs have agreed a deal and subject to a medical he will move on. At this moment in time the interest is in the players that are here. The key for us is that it is the overall team that is important.'
