Top-four matchup out west set for Wednesday night at WWT Soccer Park
FENTON, Mo. – A top-four clash in the USL’s Western Conference is set for Wednesday night as Saint Louis FC hosts Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 looking to hand the conference leaders their first defeat of the season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.

- Current record: 4-3-2, 14 points
- Saint Louis bounced back from its first loss in six games on Saturday night as it romped past Tulsa Roughnecks FC 5-2 at ONEOK Field.
- Irvin Herrera led the way for the visitors, and was voted the USL Player of the Week on Tuesday for his four-goal performance for the side.
- Mike Ambersley recorded a pair of assists in the contest, and now leads the team with three assists this season.
- Wednesday night’s game was originally set to be played on Saturday, April 30, but lightning and heavy rain forced its postponement.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 news and notes
- Current record: 6-0-2, 20 points
- Vancouver took its second victory against Portland this season in its last outing, as it defeated T2 3-1 on Friday night at Providence Park.
- Kyle Greig scored his eighth goal of the season, and his 30th in the USL regular season all-time, within the opening minute of the contest, while Fatawu Safiu and Jordan Haynes also found the net.
- Safiu was named to the USL Team of the Week on Tuesday as he helped lead WFC2 past his former club with a brilliant free kick.
- WFC2 currently holds a two-point lead on Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at the top of the Western Conference as the lone remaining undefeated team in the league.
