REPORTS THAT PSG BID €75M FOR DRAXLER WERE FALSE

In an exclusive interview with BILD, Wolfsburg sporting director rubbishes claims that PSG made a €75million bid, in the interview he talks about the difference between the Draxler speculation and Kevin De Bruyne’s move to Manchester City.
The 22-year-old signed for the Lower Saxony club last summer for £30million, the deal was greeted with anger from the Schalke fans after their star player left, months after signing a long-term contract extension at the VELTINS-Arena.
In his debut season at Die Wolves, Draxler made 24 Bundesliga appearances, nine Champions League appearances and featured twice in the DFB Pokal. In the German First Division he netted six goals and grabbed six assists, in the Champions League he only scored three, bagging two of them in the knockout stages against Ghent.
During the transfer window, Draxler made it clear his intentions to leave the Volkswagen Arena this prompted reports that PSG and Everton were leading the line for the attacker.
On the matter of the reported €75 million bid for Julian Draxler, Allofs explained that there was no concrete bids from the Parisians.
There was no 75-million deal for Julian Draxler. But even if there was an offer, we would’ve declined.
The Wolfsburg Sporting Director also compared the Draxler and Kevin De Bruyne deals. De Bruyne enjoyed a spell at Wolfsburg before joining Manchester City for a mammoth £62million at the end of August last year despite Allofs saying he wasn’t leaving.
There are several differences. Julian is not so long since joining us. The sporting situation was different. To put it clearly: There has been no offer for Julian. With Kevin De Bruyne it was different. There were concrete offers from the very beginning, which is the difference between the two deals.

When asked about his relationship with the playmaker, Allofs gave a positive response, despite Draxler creating uncertainty amongst the squad.
[Relations with Draxler] Are absolutely fine. He is our player and the will stay at Wolfsburg for a long time. I understand that he has this idea of wanting to play internationally. Draxler’s action was not great for us and wasn’t very good for him either. But it is all sorted.
Wolfsburg will be without European football this season after they suffered a dip in form last season which saw them slump to 8th.
