Arsene Wenger says Arsenal have regretted their inability to record wins in recent games- which eventually puts them of the title chase.
The Gunners bounced back from a disappointing run by beating West Brom 2-0 on Thursday night thanks to Alexis Sanchez brace on third and thirty-sixth minute to put them on third position with 63 points.
Wenger’s side are realistically out of the title race but could have seen a twist if they were able to win back-to-back draw matches against West Ham and Crystal Palace which they took the lead in each of these games.
“We have regrets,” he said. In recent games, we had two draws when we should have won the games several times, you pay for dropped points like that.”
“The quality of our game was as good tonight as it has been in recent games, but we did not always get maximum points for the quality of our performances.”
However, Arsene Wenger said the win is better for his side and will now focus on Sunderland’s on Sunday.
“It was very important for us to win. Now let’s try to win the next one.”
“That will be a tough battle, let’s prepare well, we have a good chance but it’s far from done.”
