Hull City vs Wolves - Your big match preview

Hull City team news

HULL City boss Steve Bruce will be without the experienced duo of Michael Dawson and Mo Diame as he bids to find a much needed victory at home to Wolves tomorrow night.
Dawson limped out of last weekend's 2-2 draw at Huddersfield Town with a calf injury and will miss at least two more weeks.
Diame reported a thigh injury in training on Wednesday that will require 10 days of rest.

The experienced pairing will also miss next Tuesday's trip to Reading and the home derby clash with Leeds United a week on Saturday.
Bruce will revert to a four man defence for the visit of Wolves tomorrow night.
The absence of Dawson will mean he will select two out of Curtis Davies, Harry Maguire and son, Alex.

Moses Odubajo (above), available after a one-match suspension, will also return at right-back.
Diame's injury blow could give a chance to Adama Diomande alongside Abel Hernandez in attack.
Midfielder David Meyler, meanwhile, is in line for his first Championship start since the 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on February 26.
Hull City XI (probable): McGregor; Odubajo, Maguire, Davies, Robertson; Elmohamady, Meyler, Livermore, Clucas; Diomande, Hernandez.

Wolves team news

KENNY Jackett's Wolves squad is down to its bare bones for tomorrow night's trip, with a handful of players already ruled out for the season.
Michal Zyro was the latest name added to a lengthy injury list when he suffered multiple knee ligament damage in the 2-1 win at MK Dons 10 days ago.
The Poland international is facing up to at least a year out of action and became the third player lost to a serious knee injury at Molineux this season. Nouha Dicko and Jordan Graham remain on the comeback trail.
Wolves have also lost winger Razak Boukari and defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell for the season, while centre-half Mike Williamson (thigh) has not played since a permanent deal from Newcastle in January.
Light at the end of the tunnel has come with the recent return of James Henry (pictured), who scored when Wolves drew 1-1 with City in August, while Dave Edwards is also on the brink of his full comeback.
The Wales international has not started a Championship fixture since January due to a broken foot but was named on the bench for the 0-0 draw with Blackburn.
Wolves XI (probable): Ikeme; Iorfa, Batth, Hause, Doherty; Henry, Coady, Price, Saville; Mason, Le Fondre.

Philip Buckingham's opinion – Taming Wolves can begin City revival

WHEN Sky TV selected Wolves' visit to the KC Stadium for live coverage back in February, it was a fixture that promised to shape the automatic promotion race.
The depressing reality is now very different for Hull City. Ten points adrift of the top two with just six games remaining, tomorrow night's latest TV date has arrived with City's sights lowered to the Championship's play-offs.
Three wins are still needed to make absolutely sure of an extended season next month but Steve Bruce's greatest concern is first to piece everything back together.
Form, confidence and belief have all suffered over the last month and the repair job on all three can begin against Wolves tomorrow night.
City would be ill-equipped to tackle the play-offs in their current state of despondency but three or four, perhaps even five, wins from these last six games could change everything.
Bruce's message on Thursday morning, quite rightly, was to underline that everything is not lost. Someone will be celebrating at Wembley on May 28 and why can't that be City?
Clouds need to be cleared for supporters and players to start believing that again. And results on home soil are vital to that.
Four of the six remaining games come at the KC Stadium, a venue that has seen City lose just one of 19 Championship games this season. The revival surely has to begin here.
Prediction: Hull City 1 Wolves 0

Key battle – Harry Maguire vs Joe Mason

A LONG-AWAITED return to the Hull City defence did not work out as Harry Maguire would have wished when he scored an own goal in last weekend's 2-2 draw at Huddersfield but a second chance is likely to come tomorrow evening.

The absence of Michael Dawson will leave a void that Maguire is expected to fill and the fans' favourite will be trusted with returning City's rearguard to its former glories after leaking six goals in two games. An injury-hit Wolves attack has failed to score in three of the last five games and Maguire will hope to again get the upper hand on forward Joe Mason.
•
The 24-year-old returns to the KCOM Stadium three months after he led the line for Cardiff in a 2-0 victory for the Tigers. Mason has scored two goals in 12 games since joining Wolves in January.

Wolves overview

FIFTEEN points adrift of the play-offs but 16 above the relegation zone, Wolves' run-in has only pride at stake.
Kenny Jackett's men have failed to kick on from last season's seventh-placed finish in the Championship and the sale of star man Benik Afobe during the January transfer window has created signs of unrest around Molineux.
A run of four consecutive wins around the turn of the year was promising, but three wins from the last 15 games has killed off any chance of reaching the play-offs.
Wolves have at least become a tough nut to crack in the last month.
Although four games ended in draws, including last weekend's 0-0 stalemate at Blackburn, they arrive at the KC Stadium unbeaten in six games.
