Ronan Finn continued his scoring streak as the Lilywhites picked up their seventh win of the season
Dundalk held on to top spot in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division with a confident performance against Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium.

A David Webster own goal gave the visitors the lead after 15 minutes before the Hoops suffered a setback when Gary McCabe was sent off. Ronan Finn continued his run of form with a goal just after half-time to seal the win.
The home side had started off brightly and arguably looked the better team in the opening 10 minutes. However, Dundalk the lead after Darren Meenan broke on the right wing and delivered a powerful cross that was directed to his own net by Webster.
Dundalk then looked to control the game with Ronan Finn and Chris Shields impressing for Stephen Kenny's side.
Pat Fenlon will rue the fact that his side's task was made all the more difficult after McCabe was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Stephen O'Donnell.
Finn then scored from what was arguably the most impressive passage of play in the game, as he calmly slotted home after a Daryl Horgan cross fell to Meenan who teed up the ex-Rovers midfielder who made no mistake.
The champions looked comfortable for the remainder of the game with Horgan almost getting his name on the scoresheet, but his goal bound effort was cleared off the line.
Brandon Miele went closest for the Hoops with a powerful strike from distance, but saw his strike just went the wrong side of Gary Rogers post.
Fenlon's side will hope for a response from his side they travel away to face Cork City on Monday, whereas Dundalk are back in action on Friday night as they face Bohemians at Dalymount Park.
