Michael McGovern 9
Kept his team in the game with brilliant saves from Muller, Ozil, Gotze and Gomez. No chance with the goal.
Aaron Hughes 6.5
Asking a lot of a 36-year-old to face the world champions in this mood but fought right to the end.
Craig Cathcart 7
Snuffed out the danger time and again, and played his way out of trouble on more than one occasion.

Gareth McAuley 7.5
Just failed to keep out Gomez's goal but couldn't be faulted as he led another valiant defensive effort.
Jonny Evans 7.5
Worked overtime down the left and produced some fantastic blocks, notably on Gotze in the first half.

Jamie Ward 6
Tested Neuer with an ambitious effort from 25 yards in the first half but hardly got near goal otherwise.
Corry Evans 6.5
Thankless task screening a defence on occasions like this but stuck to his job very well.
Steven Davis 6.5
Tried to keep tabs on the imperious Ozil and bring composure to the team but it wasn't easy.

Had few opportunities to demonstrate his set-piece skills but did his bit to hold the Germans at bay.
Stuart Dallas 6
Came into the game more in the second half but found it hard to make the impression he did against Ukraine.

It's lonely being the only striker on days like these, as Lafferty discovered against Poland, but never gave up.
