Sweden forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic is proud of the career he has had for his country in the wake of their Euro 2016 exit on Wednesday.
Ibrahimovic announced his retirement from international football earlier this week after 16 years playing for Sweden in which he's recorded 115 caps and 62 goals -- the most of any Swedish player.
The former Ajax, Inter Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, AC Milan and PSG man has been named Sweden's top footballer eight times, and participated in two European Championships and two World Cups for his country.
Though he and his teammates were eliminated from Euro 2016, putting a definite end to his international career, the 34-year-old said he made "many beautiful memories" playing in the Sweden shirt.
"I'm very proud of my career," Ibrahimovic said after his side's 1-0 loss to Belgium in Nice.
"I'm just a boy from a small little part of Malmo and I got to represent my country. I was able to captain my country.
"I'm proud of what I have achieved and I will have many beautiful memories of my Sweden career."
