BORUSSIA DORTMUND last night issued a clear warning to Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea declaring: “Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is not for sale.”
The German giants’ big boss Hans Joachim Watzke told Sunsport that they will not sell the Bundesliga hot-shot who's banged 22 goals this season.
Aubameyang is just one strike behind Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski in the charts and has attracted strong interest from the Premier League's big-hitters.
But Watzke told Sunsport: “The position is clear. Auba plays for Borussia Dortmund and the next years he will play at Borussia Dortmund.
No question. There is no get-out clause.
“Money is a thing that can solve all other things. But it’s not realistic.
Clubs of the Premier League have a lot of money. But so much as to get Aubameyang? It’s a little bit difficult.
“It’s not question of money. We have money. We have no Sheikh. No Roman Abramovich.
“But we have money. We don’t need money. We need success in playing football.
“Our profession is not to make deals. Our profession is to make a good team and play football.
“We had all the patience in the world with Aubameyang because we saw the potential in him.”
Dortmund host Tottenham tomorrow in the Europa League – in the clash of the second-placed teams in the Premier League and the Bundesliga.
Watzke also insisted they will give highly-coveted midfielder Ilkay Gundogan a new deal to stave off interest from United.
He added: "I don’t know if Ilkay will leave this summer. Ilkay is a very important player for us.
“But to be at Borussia is a special thing. We are in the best 10 clubs in Europe and to go to another club is a risk. We want to give him a longer contract.
“We will see what his decision is. But we are very relaxed about this.”
