ATLETICO MADRID have reportedly set their sights on signing either Edinson Cavani, Mauro Icardi or Gonzalo Higuain if they can’t land Diego Costa.

Recent reports suggest Antonio Conte, who is the overwhelming favourite to succeed Guus Hiddink as Chelsea boss in the summer, has no desire to sell the club’s fiery Spanish forward.
Manchester United are already compiling a list of summer targets, and Higuain appears to feature quite high up it.
Meanwhile, United are also keeping an eye on Inter Milan hitman Icardi, who is admired by Jose Mourinho.
Spanish paper Marca claim Atletico have drawn up a shortlist of back-up options in the event they fail to land Costa.
The report suggests Cavani is wanted, and his agent has held talks with Atletico’s sporting director Andrea Berta.
Icardi and Higuain are also being discussed as mooted targets, although the latter could stay at Napoli.
It is also thought that Atletico are open to other options should they be unable to sign one of the aforementioned.
