Leicester fan has been coerced by his wife into cashing in his £20e/w bet on Leicester City winning the Premier League title - despite them being five points clear.
The Foxes fanatic from Leicester placed his bet with William Hill at odds of 2500/1 just a week after the opening round of fixtures and stood to collect £51,600. But with just nine games left to go he has decided to cash in scooping £29,788.
William Hill staff at the shop in Leicester said: “The punter has been in and out of the shop for the last three or four weeks seeing what his cash out value would be and finally on Monday he came in and told us that after discussions with his wife, he had to cash in.”
At 5/4, Leicester are the shortest price they have been all season to win the Premier League but up and down the country prospective winners are becoming nervous.

The bet, placed in central Leicester, is the first to be cashed in on the Foxes winning the Premier League meaning that there are still 25 bets at 5000/1 ranging from stakes of 5p to £20.
Should Leicester win the Premier League then it could cost Britain’s biggest bookmaker well over £2m.
“Leicester are in possibly their strongest position of the season so far, yet it is now that people are starting to consider cashing out,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
“We could do with a few more taking the bait as a Leicester win could cost us a small fortune.”
