An ankle injury will keep attacking midfielder Jonathan Osorio out of Toronto FC's match Sunday in Portland against the defending Major League Soccer champion Timbers.
Osorio was not part of Toronto's travelling party Thursday after rolling an ankle in practice Wednesday. Head coach Greg Vanney said the injury was not serious but would keep him out of action this weekend.
The 23-year-old from Brampton, Ont., has been effective playing at the tip of Vanney's midfield diamond in recent games.
The contest in Portland marks the end of Toronto's eight-game road trip to start the season due to BMO Field renovations.
Toronto (3-2-2) has won its last two games and is unbeaten in three. Portland (2-3-3) is unbeaten in its last two games coming off a 1-1 tie in New England on Wednesday.
