The midweek round of games of this season saw Juventus go another step closer to the title, and Francesco Totti’s brace took Roma some way to securing the third spot.
Napoli won with an impressive 6-0 win over Bologna on Tuesday night, reducing the gap with Juve by three points for just one night, as Paulo Dybala’s double gave the Bianconeri an easy win against Lazio. Behind them, Roma won thanks to the eternal captain Totti, and with Inter and Fiorentina losing, Roma see next season’s Champions League edge ever closer.
At the bottom, Palermo could not make the most of Frosinone‘s defeat, with the bottom three unable to get out of the drop zone.

Emiliano Viviano – Sampdoria (2 Team of the Week appearances)
Despite having ten men for most of the game, the Blucerchiati grabbed a crucial point in Sassuolo thanks to this man, able to save a Domenico Berardi penalty on 90 minutes.

The Rossoblu captain suffers when necessary against a rampaging but inefficient Inter, maintaining composure at the back and then storming forward to blast home the decisive 1-0.
Gabriel Paletta – Atalanta
The defender that with Parma reached the Italy shirt is back to his best levels. Yes, Palermo does not exactly represent the toughest opponent, but he stops the Rosanero forwards and then has the time to score a lovely header too.
Cristian Ansaldi – Genoa (3 apps)
Goes up and down on the flank relentlessly being a constant threat to Inter as well as stopping any attack of the Nerazzurri on his side.
Dries Mertens – Napoli
In our attacking Team of the Week, he plays in the middle to develop play, but with Napoli against Bologna he was more of a striker, scoring three goals and being simply unstoppable.
Nicola Rigoni – Chievo
Scores what is possibly the best goal of the season. On top of that, he dictates Chievo’s play in the 5-1 win over Frosinone, the best ever result in Chievo’s Serie A history.
Manolo Gabbiadini – Napoli
No Higuain? No problem. Gabbiadini sends a message to Conte scoring two goals in Napoli’s demolishing of Bologna, including a very Higuain-like goal.
Francesco Totti – Roma
One of the most incredible football stories happened last night, and the protagonist was this man. A goal after 23 seconds, a brace after five minutes and the game that goes from a 2-1 defeat to a 3-2 win, with the Pupone breathing in all the love of his people under the Curva Sud. Totti beats Torino and Luciano Spalletti and writes his name in the history books yet again.
Sergio Pellissier – Chievo
It was the round of captains born in the 70s scoring two goals. Without having Totti’s mediatic impact, also Chievo’s Pellissier keeps on scoring, now on 98 total Serie A goals. Another eternal monster.
Paulo Dybala – Juventus (6 apps)
Magical. What he does with the ball at the moment is unique in Serie A, combined with a character and winning mentality that are really the difference between Juventus and those behind the Bianconeri. Dybala does everything very well, linking up play between midfielders and strikers, scoring, dribbling and being a constant threat to any defence.
Roma Set Price For Manolas
Serie A giants Roma have reportedly set a €30 million price tag on defender Kostas Manolas.
The 24-year-old, who has represented Greece 23 times, has made 41 appearances for the Giallorossi this season, scoring twice and racking up as many assists on the way.
According to The Sun, Manolas is a target for Antonio Conte who is taking charge of Chelsea next season and the Italian is keeping tabs on the defender.
Roma are not willing to let Manolas go easily and are demanding €30 million for his signature.
Jose Mourinho is also keen on signing the former Olympiakos man, should he take over at Manchester United while Arsenal have also been linked with the defender once more.
Manolas joined Roma from Greek giants Olympiakos for a fee in the region of €15m, having previously played for AEK Athens and Thrasyvoulos.
