Terengganu Football Association (MalayPersatuan Bola Sepak Terengganu), is an football association that supervises football activities in the state of Terengganu and was formed in 1972.
The Terengganu FA is a professional football team that competes in Malaysian football competitions representing the state of Terengganu Darul Iman and under the supervision of Terengganu State Football Association. The team is based inKuala TerengganuTerengganu and currently playing in Malaysian Super League, the top-flight of Malaysian football. Their home games are played at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah StadiumKuala TerengganuTerengganu. The team have a long-standing rivalry with Kelantan FA, the two east coast teams collectively known as the East Coast Derby.[2]
The team had won major trophies in Malaysian football. Domestically they has won 1 runners-up Malaysia Super Leaguetitles, 1 Malaysia Cup, 2 Malaysia FA Cup, 1 Malaysia Charity Shield and 2 Malaysian League Division II title.
Their current coach, Abdul Rahman was appointed Terengganu FA football chief coach to replace E. Elavarasan.[3]Terengganu has a long-standing rivalry with neighbours Kelantan, with whom it regularly contests the East Coast Derby

History

Terengganu FA was founded in 1972 as Terengganu Football Association (Malay: Persatuan Bola Sepak Negeri Terengganu). In 1999, Dato' Haji Che Mat bin Jusoh(ABC), who was the Terengganu President at that time, was appointed to lead the team. Che Mat Jusoh successfully guiding the team Terengganu champions in 2000 and 2011 season and runners-up in 2004 season of the FA Cup. The team won first title in the Malaysia Cup in 2001 season and runners-up in 2011 season. Terengganu won the Malaysia Charity Shield in 2001 season. The team succeed to improve position in 2005–06 Premier League season. The team ended in runners-up place during the season. In 2010 season, Terengganu ended in third place in Super League and runners-up in 2011 season.[5]
At the end of the 2013 season, Dato' Haji Che Mat bin Jusoh eventually withdrew from the presidency Terengganu FA after failed to bring the team as required by Peteh fans.[6]As Datuk Wan Ahmad Nizam take over Terengganu in 2013, he want changes Terengganu FA in next season to champions cup in Malaysia League.[7]

New stadium

At the start of the 2008 season, Terengganu FA used the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kuala TerengganuMalaysia, constructed by a South Korean construction firm. It was used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 50,000 people and is named after the reigning Terengganu Ruler, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin. The biggest stadium in the East Coast region of Peninsular Malaysia, it was built to replace Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium as the state's main stadium. Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin himself, who was then the 13th Yang DiPertuan Agong officiated the stadium on 10 May 2008. Its first major use was as the main venue for Sukma Games 2008.
After an incidence where the main roof structures of the stadium collapsed on 2009,[10] they moved back to for 2014 seasonSultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium.Good News for Terengganu Fans Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium ready to use again for new season 2015.
