Nigeria: Moses Out of Eagles' Friendlies

West Ham United forward Victor Moses has pulled out of Nigeria's friendlies against the DR Congo and Cameroon, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have announced.
The Super Eagles play the Leopards of DRC in Vise, Liege on Thursday, October 8 and will then confront Cameroon's Indomitable Lions in Dendermonde on Sunday, October 11.
Victor Moses, in a letter to the Nigeria Football Federation through the Super Eagles' Administrator, Enebi Achor, said he was pulling out in a precautionary move against injury.Earlier, Turkey-based defender Kenneth Omeruo was ruled out of the double header in Belgium this week owing to injury.
Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh, while regretting this setback, assured that the team have enough good quality options to fill the gaps left by both players."We have no choice now but to work with the other players who are available,"Oliseh said.

Salami thrilled with treble against Sunshine

On his return from injury , Warri Wolves poster boy Gbolahan Salami was delighted to score a hat – trick to take his tally this season to 13 goals, as the Delta State team thrashed one of the title contenders, Sunshine Stars, 3-0 in the Nigerian top flight.
The Nigeria international has chosen to remain modest despite hitting a treble, stating that Sunshine Stars gave Warri Wolves a run for their money even though the scoreline didn’t suggest that.
“It wasn’t an easy game, I am so happy that I scored three goals. Sunshine Stars are a good team and they have good players, ” said Gbolahan Salami to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I have not been playing for three to four weeks because of injury so I am happy to be back and score.
“I want to score many goals before the league ends but I won’t say I’ll score 16,17 or 26 goals. I want to take the games as they come.”

Heartland beat Enyimba in Oriental derby

Heartland on Sunday defeated 10-man Enyimba 2-1 to reduce the People’s Elephant’s lead at the summit of the Nigeria Premier League table.
Goals from Fortune Omoniwari and Emeka Ogbugh gave the Owerri side the three points in the Oriental derby. Markson Ojobo got the consolation goal for Enyimba from the penalty spot.
Despite the loss, Enyimba still lead the table on 58 points, while Warri Wolves moved to second place with 55 points after their 3-0 victory over Sunshine Stars on Saturday. Sunshine are third with 53 points.
Enyimba began the match the brighter of the two sides as they sought to extend their lead in the league.
They however suffered a setback in the 38th minute when Ifeanyi Anaemena was red-carded for a second bookable offence. Heartland got their first goal two minutes later from a free-kick converted by Omoniwari.
But Enyimba equalised in the added time of the first half through Ojobo after a penalty was awarded to the Aba side. Ogbugh ensured the hosts got the three points in the 61st minute when he scored from a difficult angle.
