Galatasaray'a sakatlık şoku

Atletico Madrid-Galatasaray mücadelesinin 23. dakikasında sakatlanan Jason Denayer, karşılaşmaya devam edemedi.

Şampiyonlar Ligi'nde Atletico Madrid'in konuğu olan Galatasaray'da Jason Denayer, karşılaşmanın 23. dakikasında sakatlanarak yerini Olcan Adın'a bıraktı.  Denayer sahayı sedyeyle terk etti.

Sezon başında Manchester City'den kiralanan genç oyuncunun sağ arka adalesinde yırtık olabileceği öğrenildi. Oyuncunun kesin durumu ile ilgili maç sonu bir açıklama yapılması bekleniyor.

Antoine Griezmann opened the scoring for Simeone's men after Wesley Sneijder passed up a great opportunity to put the visitors ahead, which proved to be a telling factor in the scoreline. A very interesting second period coming up!

  The Galatasaray box is absolutely packed at the moment as the visitors attempt curb the ascendancy of the hosts, while Atletico sent plenty of offensive players into the final third. Carrasco eventually receives the ball to feet near the penalty spot before playing wide for Filipe to cross in, but again Muslera collects the cross quite easily.

  The home side get the opportunity to add to their lead as they are awarded a free kick in a very useful position down the right wing after Oztekin unceremoniously clips the heels of Gamez just a yard in from the byline. The set-piece is eventually clipped to the back post, but Godin is penalised for some shoving inside the area.

  Torres attempts to latch on to a loose ball in behind the Galatasaray defence and almost does so, before Kaya comes in with an important interception. A few years ago the Atletico striker would probably have pounced on that opportunity and went on to score, but he is missing that electric turn of pace these days.

It was mentioned previously that the Turkish side were not keeping the ball well enough, but a large contributing factor to that is that they are constantly being hunted and harried by the midfield of the hosts.

  Carrasco, after having gave Denayer a torrid time at right-back, is looking to inflict similar damage to the newly introduced Adin as he opens up his stride with a powerful run before once again cutting inside on his right foot. He then clips a lovely diagonal pass to the opposite flank for Gamez, whose cross inside is swiftly cleared.

  There's another player down now and it looks a real sore one for Tiago as the Portuguese clashes in midair with Karacan. It seems like he just took a head to the side of his cheekbone, but he'll probably be fine to continue after some physio attention after just having his bell rung.

  We are just beyond the midway point of the first period now and apart from that glorious chance for Sneijder, Galatasaray haven't really shown much going forward in the final third. Podolski is cutting a fairly isolated figure up there, having failed to get much change out of Godin and Gimenez.

  The former Monaco winger is starting to become much more prominent now and looks a major threat down the left. This time, the Atletico man takes the ball beyond Denayer with a lovely bit of trickery before lashing a wicked cross into the box, but Chedjou is on hand to head the danger away.

  Carrasco, who hasn't seen too much of the ball so far down that left wing, bursts into life with a marauding dribble a yard in from the touchline before cutting inside and looking for the run of Torres at the back post. The Belgian just puts a little too much on his cross, though, and Galatasaray get the goal kick.

  Griezmann looks in the mood to grab some more goals tonight and inflict further damage on the Turkish champions. This time, the former Real Sociedad man peels away into the centre and collects possession around 30 yards out before drilling a strike at goal on the half volley. On this occasion, though, Muslera gets his body behind the ball to make the save.

  We get our first real glimpse of Griezmann now as the Frenchman pops up in a useful position around 25 yards out to receive the ball fizzed into his feet. He attempts to curl a lofted pass over the Galatasaray defence for Koke, but it was just behind his team-mate, who can't take in with a touch.

  A dodgy moment from Muslera here as a speculative cross is swept into the back post, which should be easy for the goalkeeper to claim. Instead, he spills possession back into the danger whilst under minimal pressure from Torres. Luckily for him, his defence bails him out.

• The last encounter between Atletico and Galatasaray was the reverse fixture of tonight's match at the Turk Telekom Arena back in September. The opening match of Group C saw Los Colchoneros run out relatively comfortable 2-0 winners thanks to two first half goals from Antoine Griezmann, who will be hoping to channel a similar performance here.
• The Turkish champions have had a fairly tumultuous past few days as they have parted company with Hamza Hamzaoglu after year in charge. A 3-3 draw at home to Antalyaspor subsequently triggered his dismissal at the weekend, with Claudio Taffarel coming in as caretaker manager. Not the easiest away trip for your first game in charge!
• Galatasaray, meanwhile, are third in the group with four points taken from four matches. Their solitary win of the campaign came at home to Benfica in a 2-1 result, and they will need muster up a similar kind of performance if they are to come out on top tonight. In order for the Turkish outfit to maintain any hope of qualifying for the last-16, they must defeat Atletico, which they have failed to do in five previous attempts.
• The Spanish capital club are currently on an eight-match unbeaten run in all competitions, with their last defeat actually coming at the hands of Benfica at the Vicente Calderon, which was actually the very first time that Simeone had suffered defeat at home in the Champions League in 13 matches in charge of Atleti. Apart from that result, their recent record on their own patch in the tournament is excellent, having won 10 of those 13 matches.
• Tonight's match presents Diego Simeone's outfit with the opportunity to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition with a fixture to spare. The Colchoneros are currently situated second in the standings just behind Benfica, but do have a game in hand on the Portuguese side, who drew 2-2 away at Astana earlier this afternoon. A point would secure qualification, with the scenario on Matchday Six likely to be a straight shoot-out between Atleti and Benfica to secure top spot.
