Seattle, Arizona both look to bounce back from opening defeats
TUKWILA, Wash. – Seattle Sounders FC 2 hosts Arizona United SC on Wednesday as both teams look to bounce back from defeats to start the season in Week 2 of the 2016 USL season. Kickoff at Starfire Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

- Sounders FC 2 fell 1-0 to Sacramento Republic FC in its opening game last Friday night as Tommy Stewart’s penalty kick proved the difference for the visitors at Starfire Stadium.
- Despite a strong lineup that included players such as Andy Craven and Darwin Jones in attack, Seattle was only able to manage one shot on goal, and eight shots total on the night.
- S2 went 11-3-0 at home last season, which was a big key to their advancement to the 2015 USL Playoffs.
Arizona United SC news and notes
- Current record: 0-1-0, 0 points
- United opened its five-game road trip to start the season with a 2-0 defeat against the LA Galaxy II on Saturday night.
- Arizona’s starting lineup saw seven players make their first start for the club after a major roster overhaul by new Head Coach Frank Yallop. Chris Cortez led the newcomers with four shots on the night, three of which were on target.
- Arizona’s Sam Garza will get to face his former club on Wednesday, after making 23 appearances and recording four goals and two assists for S2 last season.
- United will be hoping to find its scoring touch on Wednesday night, as the club is currently in a 376-minute scoreless streak that dates back to last season.
