Liberia to keep up the pace in Monrovia

Liberia will be hosting Djibouti in Monrovia this Tuesday, in the reverse fixture of their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers’ Group A double header.

The Lone Star secured all three points at the El Hadj Hassan Gouled Stadium in Djibouti City in the first leg last Thursday, with Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Anthony Laffor scoring the winner in the 65th minute.

And James Debbah’s men will be hot favorites to keep their momentum going against the Red Sea minnows in front of their home crowd.

Tied on six points with Togo and Tunisia at the top of the group table halfway through the qualifying campaign, Liberia are desperate to keep pace with their rivals and will certainly be hoping to see the Sparrow Hawks and the Carthage Eagles play to a draw in Lomé.

Still pointless after consecutive losses to Tunisia, Togo and Liberia, Djibouti will crash out of the race if they fail to cause a major upset in Monrovia.

The game will kick off at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium at 18h00 CAT on Tuesday.
