Young Africans S.C.
Young Africans Sports Club, locally known as Yanga, is a Tanzanian football club based in Dar es Salaam. Their home games are played at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium. It is one of the two biggest teams in Tanzanian football, their archrivals beingSimba. Both teams are based in Dar es Salaam. The team's colors are yellow, green and black. Yanga has won more Tanzanian Premier League titles (i.e. 24 Titles) than their arch rivals Simba SC. However, Simba has fared much better on the continental stage than their archrivals. Yanga played their first game of the 2011 Kagame Castle Cup on 26 June 2011. Yanga managed to draw 2-2 against Al-Merreikh and the Sudanese team made a record by scoring all four goals (Yanga's goals were own goals)
Shabani Nonda is the most notable player to play for the club. He had a stint with Yanga in the middle of the 1990s before heading toVaal Professionals based in South Africa.
In February 1974 Young Africans played friendly match in Espírito Santo, Brazil country football, the stadium Engineer Alencar Araripe against Sports Railway losing 3-0.
