Cesc Fabregas has reiterated he is not behind a mutiny against Jose Mourinho and insists he is “p****d off” by Chelsea’s poor run of form.
Standard Sport revealed the extent of dressing-room unrest at Stamford Bridge last month but Fabregas claims he is not among those individuals believed to be questioning Mourinho’s methods.
Chelsea have already lost seven Premier League games this season and sit 16th in the table but Fabregas told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope: “Mourinho trusts us and we trust him. Obviously it is a lie [that Fabregas led a mutiny against Mourinho]. I backed him in a very difficult time.
“My relationship with Mourinho is good, as always, but when things aren’t going well people are always looking for something.”
Fabregas was dropped for last weekend’s defeat at Stoke and the Spaniard has been one of several players singled out for criticism having failed to hit the heights of last season.
The 28-year-old, who is away on international duty with Spain ahead of friendlies against England and Belgium, said: “Those of us who have been most criticised are [Eden] Hazard, Diego Costa and myself, but you get used to it. We’re not doing well in the league at the moment. Last year we lost four games all season and this season we have lost seven already.
“But Mourinho is a winner, when he loses he goes home p****d off like I do. The results at Chelsea aren’t what we would want and don’t reflect the level of our play. I feel good in myself but when the results aren’t coming everything is negative and everything looks bad.”
