Agüero injured hamstring on 3 October playing for Argentina
Liverpool game is City’s first match after international break

Sergio Agüero has reported good progress as he works his way towards a return to action against Liverpool a week on Saturday.
The striker has not played for Manchester City since scoring five in the 6-1 demolition of Newcastle on 3 October, sustaining a hamstring injury soon after while on duty with Argentina.
Following Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Aston Villa, the City manager Manuel Pellegrini – who saw striker Wilfried Bony limp off in that game with a hamstring injury of his own – expressed his hope Agüero would be making an imminent comeback to full training with the squad.
Having posted, on Twitter, pictures of himself training alone outdoors and indoors accompanied by the message “giving it my all on recovery work”, Agüero told City’s official website on Tuesday: “I don’t think I’m too far away now. Physically, I feel good and I’ve kept as fit as I can during my lay-off.”
Agüero said: “I still need to work hard for another week and if not this week, then maybe next, I hope to start training with the rest of the lads and so my target is Liverpool.
“I’ll take things slowly and not rush into anything, but I’m not far away.”
City lead the Premier League on goal difference from Arsenal, and the 27-year-old added: “We need to focus on what we’ve been doing and keep it going because we have an important game coming up against Liverpool and the result at Aston Villa wasn’t exactly what we’d wanted.”

Jack Wilshere will become one of the world's best - if he can stay fit, says Xavi

Jack Wilshere has the capacity to become one of the best midfielders in world football if he overcomes his injury problems, according to Xavi.
The 23-year-old has struggled with fitness issues throughout his career and is yet to make an appearance for Arsene Wenger's side this season.
The England international is expected to return to action in the New Year once he recovers from a hairline leg fracture that he initially suffered in pre-season.
Although Wilshere's spate of injuries has robbed the midfielder of regular game time for a large portion of his career, Xavi is adamant that he can reach the pinnacle of his profession.
"If he had a career that had been injury-free we would already be talking about him as one of the top central midfield players in Europe.

"I have played against him, I have watched him carefully and if he can overcome injuries then he can still go on and be one of the best midfield players in the world.
"With all respect, he doesn't play the English way.
"He has an excellent passing range, an ability not to lose the ball, it is clear that he has had his education at Arsenal," said the Spaniard.
Wilshere has failed to becomes a regular at international level since his Three Lions debut in 2010 but the World Cup winner has heralded him the future of English football.
"For many years now the one position England have not struggled with is world-class midfield players. [Paul] Scholes and then more recently [Frank] Lampard and [Steven] Gerrard.
