AC Milan - Tottenham Hotspur : Back the Rossoneri to play out a low scoring game with Pochettino's men

Neither side have looked overly threatening in front of goal and with little riding on this friendly, expect a game with less than three goals at the Allianz Arena
Tottenham's final match of pre-season is one which many fans are questioning the validity of; why are they playing AC Milan in Munich barely three days before they contest the first match of the new Premier League campaign away to Manchester United?

Perhaps the allure, both from an emotional and marketing point of view of competing in a tournament with three of the world's biggest clubs, was too great for Spurs to turn down but in truth there is little riding on this game.

The supporters' main concern will be that their players come through the encounter physically unscathed, although those punters wishing to back the north Londoners will find them priced at 9/5 (2.80) with bet365 for the win.

Milan do not begin the Serie A season for another 18 days and their recent showings underline the work still needed to be done by new coach Sinisa Mihaijlovic.

The Rossoneri do look more solid at the back, but have struggled badly in the final final third with their only goal in the last three friendlies an improbable wonder strike from veteran centre back Philippe Mexes. They are, however, the slight favourites against Spurs at 7/5 (2.40) while the draw can be backed at 12/5 (3.40).

If Milan have looked less than prolific going forward then Spurs can be labelled underwhelming in the opponent's half of the pitch too. Certainly Mauricio Pochettino's side seem a little short of firepower upfront, with Harry Kane their only real striking option going into the new campaign.

Having toiled for most of yesterday's game against Real Madrid, it is unlikely that the manager will start the England international again particularly with Saturday's league opener in mind and consequently Spurs may struggle in front of goal.

All this means that backing under 2.5 goals at evens (2.00) looks a smart bet, in a game in which neither side will be overly motivated to be particularly competitive.
