The USWNT midfielder will be an honorary captain on November 1
Fresh from her team’s heroic triumph at FIFA’s Women’s World Cup in Canada this summer, U.S. women’s national team midfielder Morgan Brian will return to her First Coast soccer roots to make a special appearance at the Jacksonville Armada FC’s final regular-season match of its inaugural NASL season against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at Community First Park on Sunday, Nov. 1.
Brian, who at the age of 22 was the youngest star of the World Cup-winning squad, will host a special VIP meet and greet from 1-2 p.m., followed by a general autograph-signing session prior to the match from 2-3 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Arena across from Community First Park ahead of the match’s scheduled 4 p.m. kickoff.
Morgan, who hails from St. Simon Island, Ga., and played locally in Jacksonville with the Clay County Soccer Club and Ponte Vedra Storm Soccer Club, will be named as an honorary Armada FC captain for the day and will help conduct the pre-match coin toss before enjoying what is expected to be a sold out final regular season match at Community First Park.
The Houston Dash star, who had an assist in the World Cup Final victory over Japan, will also be hosting a winter skills camp at Clay County Soccer Club in December, which the Armada FC will be supporting through promotion and Armada player appearances.
