TEAM NEWS

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney is expected to make his comeback from an ankle injury.
Ander Herrera and Chris Smalling have also returned to training this week and could feature but Bastian Schweinsteiger is suspended.
Norwich defender Andre Wisdom has a hamstring problem and won't face United.
Declan Rudd is expected to continue in goal. Matt Jarvis is back in training and could return after Christmas.

MOTD COMMENTATOR'S NOTES

Steve Wilson: "Norwich have lost their last three matches at Old Trafford 4-0. The home fans will arrive with hope, but not much expectation, of a similarly thumping victory.
"When was there last any real excitement at Old Trafford? You could almost distil the moments of genuine joy down to Anthony Martial's body swerve and sweeping finish against Liverpool. The rest has been much ado about nothing.
"If United can't break down Norwich, expect the spotlight which had been on Jose Mourinho to fall squarely on Louis van Gaal. United's lengthy injury list doesn't help, but nor does it dispel the feeling that he's proving to be a Picasso manager: some see genius, others see someone putting all the right bits in all the wrong places."

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: "I have the full confidence of my board and my players, I feel. But we have to get results.
"We have to win, and we know that - the players know it, I know it and my staff know it.
"We have to win because when you lose too much, also for me it's the end of the world."
Norwich City manager Alex Neil: "The disappointing thing for me is with this squad, we should have more points on the board.
"We as a group are more than capable, if we play as well as we can, of putting back-to-back wins together.
"The one thing I have found in the Premier League is that the margin between success and failure is paper-thin."

LAWRO'S PREDICTION

Norwich came back to earn a good point against Everton but the way they were taken apart in the first half will be a real worry.
That might not be such a problem for them against this Manchester United side but I would still expect a home win.
