A key meeting of Eastern Conference clubs currently above the red line is ahead when the New England Revolution and Orlando City SC face off for a second time this season, Saturday evening at Gillette Stadium. The Revolution are looking to snap a four-game winless run, playing for a third draw in that time at midweek in a 1-1 result with the Portland Timbers. Orlando City haven’t won in their last three starts, dropping a 3-2 decision at the New York Red Bulls last weekend. The teams, level on points in the division, reached a dramatic 2-2 draw April 17 in Orlando.
- Cyle Larin netted his fourth goal of the season, his first after hitting the back of the net in each of the first three games this season, but Orlando City still saw their winless run stretched to a third game in a 3-2 loss at the New York Red Bulls on Sunday evening.
- The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Orlando City took a late lead through Kevin Molino, but the Revolution scored an equalizing goal deep in stoppage time for a second time this season to leave the teams in a 2-2 draw at the Citrus Bowl. Lee Nguyen scored the latest penalty kick in the club’s history, in the 96th minute, for the equalizer.
- The teams met twice during Orlando City’s inaugural MLS season. They reached a 2-2 draw May 8 at the Citrus Bowl in the first meeting, then the Revolution claimed a 3-0 victory Sept. 5 at Gillette Stadium.
