Two teams looking to reverse slow beginnings to their campaigns meet when Seattle Sounders FC entertain Columbus Crew SC on Saturday afternoon at CenturyLink Field. Sounders FC return home after their undefeated run was put to a halt last weekend in a 3-1 defeat at the Colorado Rapids. Crew SC have recorded back-to-back victories after a winless opening to their season, hitting the road following a 1-0 win against the Houston Dynamo in Columbus last weekend.
- Rookie Jordan Morris scored his second goal in as many games, but Sounders FC had their three-game undefeated run put to an end in a 3-1 defeat by the Colorado Rapids on Saturday evening at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
- Crew SC won their second match in a row after opening the year with a five-game winless run, Kei Kamara scoring the game’s only goal from the penalty spot for a win against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday evening at Mapfre Stadium.
- Crew SC won the only meeting between the teams a year ago, a 3-2 victory May 9 at Mapfre Stadium, ending a three-game winning streak for the visiting team in the series. It was Crew SC’s first win ever against Sounders FC on their home ground; Seattle won three of the first four meetings all-time in Columbus, with one draw.
- Crew SC have won on their last two trips to Seattle, including a 2-1 win March 29, 2014 in the last meeting at CenturyLink Field.
