Leicester City take on Crystal Palace in a match both teams want to win desperately for two different reasons.
Crystal Palace remain win-less in Premier League and are fast approaching the relegation zone. It’s high time that Alan Pardew and his troops buck up their ideas because the last time they won a Premier League match was on 19th December 2016.
Leicester City are coming on the back of consecutive 1-0 wins and would want to keep the five point gap at the top of the table against Tottenham Hotspur. There is absolutely no question in the fact that they almost secured a spot in the Champions League next season, now it’s up to them to keep their heads up in the Premier League title race with just seven matches to go.
Form Comparison
Crystal Palace are really struggling in the league and are without a win since 12 Premier League matches. To make it worse there are eight defeats in their last 10 league matches. And at home, they have now lost five matches in a row and have conceded 2 or more in each of them.
Leicester are unbeaten in the last four league matches and their last defeat came at Arsenal. Only three defeats in the Premier League so far this season and all those have come against London oppositions, two against Arsenal and one against Tottenham. This is something Crystal Palace may fancy, but they are far from the class of former two.
Crystal Palace: Team News
Kwesi Appiah, James McArthur, Jason Puncheon, Marouane Chamakh and Connor Wickham are sidelined for Crystal Palace due to their respective injuries.
Alan Pardew is likely to stick with the 4-4-2 formation used in the 2-1 FA Cup win over Reading last weekend.
Predicted Line-up (4-4-2): Hennessey – Souare, Dann, Delaney, Ward – Jedinak, Ledley, Cabaye, Zaha – Bolasie, Adebayor.
Leicester City: Team News
Claudio Ranieri has the strongest possible squad at his disposal for the trip to London. Andy King maybe a doubt, it is very likely that the Italian tinker-man stick to his usual midfield duo of Kante and Drinkwater.
Predicted Line-up (4-4-2): Schmeichel – Fuchs, Huth, Morgan, Simpson – Albrighton, Kante, Drinkwater, Mahrez – Vardy, Okazaki.
Crystal Palace vs Leicester City: Head-to-Head Stats
Leicester won the first leg clash between the two sides at King Power Stadium by a solo goal from none other than Jamie Vardy.
At the same time, Palace were victorious in both legs of last season’s league clash and both by keeping a clean sheet.
Crystal Palace vs Leicester City: Prediction
It seem all easy for Leicester City from here looking at Palace’s league form in 2016. But if you go with the history, Palace are known for wrecking title bids in each of the last two season, Liverpool in 2014 and Manchester City in 2015.
The FA Cup win could give them some confidence and Palace will be out there in search for their first win of the year and Leicester must do well if they are to come out with maximum points from this match.
