Jeonju: AFC Champions League quarter-finalists left it late to pick up their 16th win of the 2015 K League Classic, with two goals in the final four minutes of Wednesday’s Round 24 clash with Busan I’Park seeing the defending Korean champions run out 2-0 winners.
Jeonbuk lined up without the trio of Lee Jae-sung, Lee Ju-yong, and Kim Kee-hee who were part of the Korea Republic squad that won the 2015 EAFF East Asian Cup last week and were heading towards only their sixth draw in 24 matches as the K League Classic returned following a two-week hiatus for the four-team regional tournament in China.
But with four minutes left at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium remaining, Jeonbuk took the lead courtesy of a Yoo Jin-hoon own goal before Brazilian winger Leonardo sealed the win in stoppage time as the  2006 ACL champions maintained their ten-point lead over closest challengers Suwon Samsung Bluewings, who defeated Daejeon Citizen in their Round 24 fixture on Wednesday.
Jeonbuk return to continental action on August 26 when they host last year’s Japanese treble winners Gamba Osaka at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium in the first leg of their 2015 ACL quarter-final, before the battle of the two former champions continues on September 16 at the Expo ’70 Stadium, home of the 2008 ACL champions.
