Two of the top clubs in the early going in the MLS season meet in an interconference clash when the Montréal Impact play host to the Colorado Rapids at Stade Saputo on Saturday afternoon. The Impact lead the Eastern Conference, returning home following a late 1-1 draw at New York City FC at midweek. The Rapids are in second place in the West, just a single point behind MLS overall leader FC Dallas, hitting the road after extending their winning streak to three games last time out in a 3-1 win against Seattle Sounders FC at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
- Jermaine Jones scored for a second consecutive game, in his second match for the club, as the Rapids rolled to a third consecutive victory in their 3-1 win against Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday evening at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
- The Impact won the lone meeting between the teams a year ago, a 1-0 win Oct. 10 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, their first win ever against the Rapids. Colorado had won the first three match-ups between the teams, over the Impact’s first three seasons in MLS.
- The Rapids have won the lone meeting in Montréal, a 4-3 win in 2013 at Stade Saputo.
