The Bianconeri have beaten several top European clubs to the signing of teenager Matheus Pereira but will monitor him during a loan spell at Empoli next year
After Corinthians reached a deal worth €2.5m for Matheus Pereira withJuventus, the 18-year-old arrived in Italy on Sunday to continue the development of his career.
The talented youngster has been snapped up by the Bianconeri, although he will be sent out on loan to Empoli next season in a bid to allow him to gain experience.
A significant proportion of the fee will go to agent Fernando Garcia who owned 95 per cent of the player’s rights, with the Timão taking up an option of receiving part of the sell-on fee should Juve part company with Pereira further down the line.
Having impressed for both the youth team at Corinthians and also for the Brazilian Under-17 national team, the teenager is still considered very raw, but amongst the most gifted youngsters produced by Brazilian football currently.
The São Paulo native was part of Brazil’s successful South America Under-17 Championship campaign in 2015.
As he now looks ahead to joining up with the Empoli squad this summer, he will hope to continue his development in Italy with a view of going on to break into the senior Juventus team in the coming years.
