John Sullivan leaves Galway United
Galway United have announced the departure of 25-year-old midfielder John Sullivan by mutual consent.
Sullivan leaves United after making 17 appearances due to commitments away from the world of football.
The player’s former manager Tommy Dunne praised the midfielder shortly after the announcement was made on Tuesday evening.
“John did extremely well for us,” said Dunne, “but commitments outside of football were taking their toll and we respect that.
“Everyone at the club wishes John well and thanks him for his contribution to the club.”
Having cited personal commitments as the reason for his departure, it remains to be seen if Sullivan will look to return the League of Ireland in the future or if he will make a return to non-league football, having had a spell with Crumlin United as early as last summer.
On twitter, Sullivan said “I’m happy to say I’ve had the opportunity to work with great people in and around the club. I wish Galway United the best for the remainder of the season and I’m sure we will meet again.”
