The former Indian national team midfielder has been handed the responsibility of procuring local talent from the state of Kerala for the Indian Super League (ISL) outfit..
Kerala Blasters announced the appointment of N.P Pradeep as ‘player scout’ for the 2015/16 season of the ISL on Tuesday.
Having played for the likes of Mahindra United and State Bank of Travancore, Pradeep is regarded as one of the best midfielders to have emerged from the state of Kerala.
Elucidating his happiness at the appointment, Viren D’Silva, CEO of Kerala Blasters said “It is our endeavor to promote and nurture home grown talent, and to lay this foundation, N. P. Pradeep will work with Steve and Ishfaq in finding and evaluating young talented players. These are the first steps in putting together a framework to build a world-class football team at Kerala Blasters.”
The Nehru Cup winner's appointment is yet another step taken by the franchise in the direction of setting up a strong managerial base which they lacked in season two and resulted in them finishing at the bottom of the ISL table.
