Crew SC had their league winless run extended to six games in their last match, coming back for a 1-1 draw at home with the LA Galaxy on June 6.
The Revolution lost their third consecutive away match in league play over the weekend, dropping a 2-1 decision at D.C. United on Sunday afternoon. The Revs have won once in their last nine games in all competitions.
The teams are meeting for the second time this season. They reached a scoreless draw April 11 at Gillette Stadium.
The Revolution have come away with a result on three of their last four trips to Columbus, including victories in both league meetings there in 2013. Crew SC took a 1-0 win Sept 20 in the only league contest between the clubs in the Ohio state capitol last year, but the Revolution claimed a 4-2 victory there in the first leg of their Eastern Conference Semifinal Series.
