Kenya: South Coast FKF Leaders Throw Their Weight Behind Twaha

Coast football leaders have vowed to vote in officials who will bring unity in the management of the sport during the much awaited national elections.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) South Coast branch secretary Evans Mwachia on Wednesday said the region will elect officials who will work well with Twaha Mbarak, who is vying for the vice president's position at the polls whose new dates are yet to be announced.
The FKF branch and national elections were indefinitely postponed last week to allow the Electoral Board time to deal with appeals from the sub-branch polls.
Mwachia bemoaned the wrangles that have bedevilled the region's football management for decades with most sub-branches unable to run their own leagues.
"We have had football wrangles (in Coast) for as long as I can remember. We have to reclaim our glory. Coast has produced some of the country's finest players but wrangles are pushing us back. We deserve better," Mwachia said.
Mwachia said the region was solidly behind Ambrose Rachier's camp; Twaha Mbarak is his running mate.
The region will also back former international Ricky Solomon for a NEC seat instead of Mohamed Omar, who is allied to FKF boss Sam Nyamweya.

Gor make more additions

Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia are hopeful of completing the signing of former Tusker defender David Ochieng.
Ochieng has been without a club since he fell out with Saudi Arabian side Al Taawon in July, and has been training with K'Ogalo since then.
According to Gor deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala, the club are hopeful of making his stay an official one.
"The coach has said we can sign him, but we are waiting for his agent to give us the nod," he was quoted as saying by Standard Media.
Ngala, meanwhile, confirmed that former Thika United midfielder Francis Kahata has been signed.
"We are in the process of completing the deal, but we have agreed on principle with Kahata that he joins us next season," Ngala told the club's official website.
