Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool among clubs wishing fans a Merry Christmas

Football and Christmas are inseperable - at least in England.
The hectic schedule over the festive period might mean that footballers playing on these shores can't ever enjoy a proper Christmas dinner or that the lack of a break means the national team are useless at every major tournament, but we wouldn't want it any other way.
So it's only fitting that on this Christmas morning clubs and players wish their fans a Merry Christmas.
But it's not just social media departments at Premier League clubs getting into the spirit, but players too with Per Mertesacker, Harry Kane and Tim Cahill among those sharing good will.
Here, we take a look at some of the best...

Eden Hazard needs to find his swagger, says Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink

Reigning Player of the Year hasn't scored a goal this season

Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink has challenged reigning Premier League Player of the Year to regain his "ego".
The Belgian winger was easily the division's biggest star as Chelsea cruised to the Premier League last season, but his form has dipped dramatically in a dreadful 2015-16 campaign.
Hazard, 24, is yet to score a goal in the Premier League this season and has just two assists for the Blues, who have won only five of their 17 matches so far.
He was seen as the main culprit, along with Diego Costa and to a lesser extent Cesc Fabregas, as one of the players who revolted against Jose Mourinho, which eventually led to the Portuguese's sacking last week.
But Hiddink, who returns to Stamford Bridge for a second interim spell, wants Hazard to rediscover the swagger that made him so good last term.
Hazard could yet beat hip trouble in time to face Watford at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day, with Hiddink intent on helping the 24-year-old hit back to his best after a miserable opening to the new campaign.
"He had a terrific season last year and it's also normal you can have a setback after that," said Hiddink.
"But I think he can be a key player again."
Hazard proved an unwitting stooge in Dr Eva Carneiro's Chelsea exit in September. Blues medic Carneiro was branded "naive" for rushing onto the field to treat the Belgium star in Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Swansea on August 8.
One of Chelsea's most potent and creative attacking forces last term, Hazard has been a shadow of his former self - but Hiddink vowed to restore the ex-Lille star to former glories.
"He is a key player as captain of the national team in Belgium - but also here when he gets back into shape.
"He was unlucky to be injured recently, which was another setback.
"We need to get the ego back for him to perform."
Hiddink will oversee Chelsea for the first match of his second spell at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day, while Didier Drogba appears to inch ever closer to joining the Blues' backroom staff.
Former Chelsea hit man Drogba sat alongside Hiddink and owner Roman Abramovich for the 3-1 win over Sunderland last weekend.
The 37-year-old remains contracted for another season at Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer, but could yet assume a short-term role with Chelsea.
Drogba's MLS club have released a statement admitting talks with Chelsea over the Ivorian joining Hiddink's back-room staff on a temporary basis.
Montreal Impact want Drogba back for the start of the new season in March, however, leaving talks to continue between the two clubs.
"We are currently in contact with Didier Drogba and Chelsea FC," Montreal Impact confirmed via twitter.
"We are doing everything we can to have him back with the Impact in 2016.
"We understand his attachment to his former club and his desire to help them. We are willing to accommodate him.
"But our objective is to have him back for another season, as agreed in his contract. This situation is out of our control.
"We would like to thank our supporters for their understanding and their patience."

Manchester United 'must win' against Stoke on Boxing Day, says under-pressure Louis van Gaal

United have won just three of their last 13

Louis van Gaal has admitted that Manchester United's Boxing Day clash with Stoke City is a 'must-win'.
The Dutch coach is under huge pressure with the Red Devils not winning any of their six previous matches, and just three of their last 13.
It is believed that Van Gaal has just two matches, against Stoke and then Chelsea on 28 December, to save his job.
After walking out of a press conference on Wednesday, where he demanded an apology from journalists for the way he had been treated, Van Gaal held an interview with the club's in-house TV channel, MUTV.
He was asked if the game is a "must-win". "Yes, I think so because when you have lost three times in a row to you need to win," he replied.
"But it's not easy. Stoke City have won also against Man City. It's a special ground. It's not easy, but there's a lot of circumstances where it's not suitable to always play good football."
Van Gaal added the team must improve their defensive organisation, but added that the team's fortunes can again change, as they have done from last month when they were top of the Premier League.
"I cannot say too loudly that we have to improve our defensive organisation. It is true it is always better that we keep a clean sheet, but we have to attack also and finish our chances - that is important. There are a lot of aspects we have to improve.
"One month ago, we were first in the Premier League. Everything has changed but it’s also possible to be, next month again, in the fighting position for a title. But we have to win first against Stoke City, that is the main focus."
Van Gaal said that United 'have to win', with the key to improve the confidence in his squad.
"The key is always communication, focus, evaluation of the match. How we've prepared and so on and so on. Our focus to the next match against Stoke City. We have to focus on that match and we have to win that match."
The Dutch coach also revealed that no other players have been injured.
"Yes, it's more or less the same. No difference. [Phil] Jones has played 90 minutes and no reactions, so that's a good signal. [Matteo] Darmian should come next week, maybe against Chelsea, we'll have to see that. Of course we have injuries that take a long time. [Antonio] Valencia, [Marcos] Rojo - you can't change that."
Speaking earlier, club captain Wayne Rooney said that the players were "fighting" for the Van Gaal's future.
"We're fighting for the manager and trying to get results to turn this around," Rooney, 30, told Sky Sports News.
"You have a lot of people talking about things they believe are happening when in reality the people writing that stuff don't know anything that's happening."

Striker Sterling Honoured to Play for Manchester City

MANCHESTER: Striker Raheem Sterling says it is “an honour” to be part of the English football giants Manchester City.
Sterling joined City in the summer for $76 million from Liverpool and insists that he is learning every day from his teammates.
“Sergio (Aguero) is a world class player -- he’s the sort of player you watch before you join the club and it’s just a great feeling to play alongside someone like that and learn a lot from him," the England international said on Friday.
“Not just Sergio but David (Silva), Kevin (De Bruyne) and Yaya (Toure). There are a lot of players you can definitely learn off and help my sort of game. It’s an honour to be training with them every day and learning from them," the 21-year-old added.
Sterling, who has scored eight goals from 21 matches, continued: “You can look around the dressing room and see players that have achieved in major tournaments. David who has won the World Cup, Sergio who has played in a World Cup Final and Yaya who has won African Player of the Year for a number of years.
“They’re all players who can grab a team by the hand and win games for your football club. There are leaders in every position - a lot of players to look to who have had a really good career so I’m just happy to be amongst them and learning every day.”
City, who are six points behind English Premier League (EPL) leaders Leicester City, take on Sunderland on Saturday.
