1. Bobo (Sydney FC)
The Brazilian striker terrorised Western Sydney Wanderers' struggling defence and capped a strong debut with a good-measure tap-in. Excellent in partnership with former Besiktas team-mate Filip Holosko.
2. Brett Holman (Brisbane)
Made many a forward run into the box for extra support. Had a couple of opportunities early but waned a little as the match wore on. A decent debut.
3. Nicolas Colazo (Melbourne City)
The former Boca Juniors attacking midfielder was everywhere in the first half. His energy and strong technique will prove valuable in combination with Bruno Fornaroli and Tim Cahill.
4. James Holland (Adelaide)
Made a crucial tackle to single-handedly stop Newcastle's Andrew Hoole netting a second-half winner. In very good physical condition.
5. Adam Taggart (Perth)
Started his second stint with the club in devastating fashion, scoring a first-half brace and constantly threatening before being subbed off early in the second half. Needs more fitness.
6. Nicolas Martinez (Western Sydney)
Showed much promise in a brief second-half cameo. The pocket-sized Argentine's first touch set up a gilt-edged chance for a Kerem Bulut. Sure to be a crowd-pleaser once his fitness improves.
7. Sergio Guardiola (Adelaide)
The Spanish striker worked hard in the second half and got into dangerous areas but was kept quiet by Newcastle Jets captain Nigel Boogaard and had little support.
8. Michael Jakobsen (Melbourne City)
Near faultless in defence against Wellington Phoenix. The versatile Dane wasn't afraid to get forward and put his tremendous left boot to use.
9. Alan Baro (Melbourne Victory)
Brisbane Roar had their chances on goal but the Spanish defender showed his La Liga experience with a rock-solid display. Strong in the air and a smooth passer. A good replacement for retired Frenchman Matthieu Delpierre.
10. Aleksandr Kokko (Newcastle)
Looked promising in the striker role and held the ball well. But the Finn, who boldly claimed he's as good as Tim Cahill, barely had time to put his money where his mouth is before being subbed off with an achilles issue.
11. Wayne Brown (Newcastle)
The former Premier League player lived up to his pedigree with a cracking volley from outside the box to secure a point against Adelaide United. Good engine and eye for the net.
12. Rhys Williams (Perth)
Reversed an encouraging performance with a lousy challenge on Central Coast Mariners' Roy O'Donovan to concede the penalty that allowed the Mariners to equalise.
13. Marco Rossi (Wellington)
The towering Italian defender led well from the back in the absence of captain Andrew Durante. Suffered a brief slip when Anthony Caceres scored, but all in all an imposing presence.
